    How It Works

    A cool top. The surface is made from cool-to-the-touch fabric (Qmax 0.40–0.45 W/cm²) that draws warmth away instead of letting it pool beneath you.

    A thin waterproof layer. Underneath, a thin membrane keeps sweat and spills out of the mattress.

    A skirt that stays put. Elastic all the way round, for mattresses and toppers.

    Put it on your mattress or topper, then your fitted sheet on top. For the most cooling, choose a thin, breathable sheet — a thick flannel sheet sits between you and the cool surface.

    In summer the whole room is warm. In winter the heating is on and a heavy duvet traps heat from above while the mattress holds it from below. Napfull Base™ works the same in both.

      THE HEAT FROM BELOW

      The other half of the heat comes from underneath.

      A cooling blanket takes care of the heat above you. But you also lie on a mattress for eight hours, and foam is built to hold warmth. In a heated bedroom in winter, a thick mattress and a warm duvet can sandwich you in heat from both sides.

      Napfull Base™ adds a cool-to-the-touch layer between you and the mattress, so warmth has somewhere to go instead of pooling beneath you.

      A cooler bed climate starts at the bottom.

      Sleep researchers call the thin layer of air around you the bed climate. It’s shaped from above by your blanket, and from below by your mattress.

        Cool you can measure: Qmax 0.40–0.45.

        Qmax measures how much heat a fabric draws from your skin the moment you touch it. Around 0.15 W/cm² is where fabric starts to feel cool. Napfull’s cooling fabric measures 0.40–0.45 — close to three times that line.

        Under a fitted sheet you’ll feel it less directly than on the blanket. What stays the same is that the layer under you draws warmth away instead of storing it.

        Does it fit a topper?

        Yes. The elastic skirt is made for both mattresses and toppers. You’ll find the exact height range under Specifications.

        Will I feel the cooling through a sheet?

        Less directly than on the blanket, because a sheet sits in between. Choose a thin, breathable sheet and you’ll keep most of the effect.

        Does it help with night sweats?

        It can’t stop a hot flash, and nothing you sleep on can. What it does is keep moisture out of your mattress and give you a cooler surface to lie on. If night sweats are new, heavy or come without a known reason, talk to your doctor.
